The Commercial Industry Advisory Council is made up of industry professionals from showrooms in The Merchandise Mart, associations and partnership shows who assemble to discuss market strategies and factors affecting the commercial furnishings industry and NeoCon® World’s Trade Fair 2008. The council understands that the growth in NeoCon’s attendance has made it a challenge for showroom owners and exhibitors to spend quality time with potential customers. At the same time, manufacturers would like to uphold the tradition of comradery among industry competitors. While attending NeoCon, one can alleviate this challenge by honoring a code of ethics when visiting competitors’ showrooms and Market Suites.

During your time at NeoCon, please comply with the following recommendations:

  • Wear your badge at all times
  • Refrain from using cameras and/or video cameras / camera phones
  • It is not permissible to sketch the showroom décor, booths or products
  • Please respect the placement of products on display
  • Be aware that requests for literature may not be honored
  • Show regard to other people's work by not openly criticizing products or showroom displays
  • Make an effort not to block a customer's view
  • Please do not monopolize company representatives' time
  • Please limit the size of your group to no more than three people

The hours listed below are recommended times for manufacturers to visit the showrooms and Market Suites. These times have been set in attempt to minimize the time spent in hosts’ show spaces during busy times. If these hours conflict with your travel schedule or meetings, you may visit during all regular show hours, but please be sure to abide by the above recommendations.
